Animals have feelings too!!

Yesterday we went to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center. Quite an experience! The kids had a lot of fun!

My 3 favorite monkeys!

Favorite sign

It's hilarious to me how some things are more important to some people than others.
Take animal feces for instance. In certain parts of the world, people just don't line up to see that sort of stuff and yet in other parts I guess they do.

Yes, that's a giant wad of lion poo

More poo

A camel just strolling through the playground

Up close and personal

Just in case you had any doubts about whether or not lions were dangerous

Monkeys BESIDE and ON the road (not behind glass or in cages).
Just roaming around like they own the place.

Monkey crossing

More monkeys swingin' on some vines ;)

Total eclipse of the.... SUN!

Last Sunday we got to see an awesome solar eclipse. East Africa had one of the best views of the total eclipse and we were so excited we were here to see it! It was surreal as the moon passed in front of the sun and it got darker outside. We snapped a few pictures of it before it was over.
The old pinhole in the paper trick

Trying not to burn a hole in our retinas...

Hopefully 5 pairs of sunglasses was enough!

The sunlight through the trees reflected hundreds of crescents all over the wall & gate

Local Attractions

There's no doubt about it... Uganda is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Here's some things we've seen so far.
This guy sits on the wall right outside the kitchen window.
We named him Davie. If you're from DC you know why!

Almost doesn't look real does it?

Avocado tree

Now that's an avocado!

Obviously a banana tree :)
Davie hangs out here sometimes too.

We made it!!!!

Well, we made it back to Africa! This trip over the big pond was a lot easier than the 1st one! All 18 pieces of luggage arrived with us in Uganda and we didn't have to open any when we literally walked right past customs!!! PTL!!!!!!

All packed and ready to leave!

Waiting, waiting, waiting

18 trunks, 5 rolling carry-ons, 5 book bags & 3 kids....

Ready for takeoff!

Hotel break in Cairo!
We had a 10 hour layover so a bed and shower were much appreciated :)

Uganda at 4:30 am!!!

3!!!!!!!!!

Last week my sweet baby girl turned 3!!!!
We celebrated her nearly all week!!! She loved it!!!!!!
Birthday Girl!

On my birthday I woke up really early and changed clothes at least 3 times before I decided what to wear because that's what girls are supposed to do, right? Ya Ya wasn't awake yet, so me and Na Na ate breakfast in the saloon. I wanted scrambled eggs.

After breakfast, I colored! I love to color!!!

Now Ya Ya was up so Mommy made pancakes and I had 2nd breakfast!

Then I got to open some of my presents

Mommy and Daddy gave me a tea pot set! I noticed right away that it matched my lunchbox that Nanny had sent me for school!
I always notice things that match (or things that don't)!

Nanny sent me a purse and Memaw sent me my very own PINK Bible

Then Mommy did my nails and I sat perfectly still while they dried. I only asked Mommy 347 times if they were dry yet so I could get up ;)

After they were dry, we helped Mommy make cupcakes!

Mommy made me a special star sandwich for lunch.
I was telling her that I'm fwee!

After nap time we got to eat the cupcakes!
Daddy helped me blow the candles out.

It was so yummy!

Then we got ready and went to the pool!!!

After swimming and supper I got to help Daddy buy some fruit!!

When we got home, Daddy helped Na Na catch a frog.
I had to get in the bed because I had school the next day and I was going to have a party there too!

The next day, everybody in my class liked the cupcakes!

On Friday, Mommy made me a princess cake for my Tea Party on Saturday!

All dressed up for the tea party!

Me and all my beautiful friends lined up for a fashion show!

Dancing princesses!!!

Tea party time!!!!!!

Mommy made a lot of yummy and pretty food just for me!

Only girls were allowed at the party, no boys!
But we let them come back for cake time!!!

I was really excited about all my presents!!

Thank you to everyone who loves me sooooo much!!!
I had so much fun turning 3!!!!!!!
