Ramadanin'

Friday was the first day of Ramadan. In short, it is a month of fasting from food and drink from sunup 'til sunset (click here to read more about it). At sunset EVERYONE stops to eat. Most often, the men eat outside in the streets with neighbors and the women eat inside. If you are on the street during fatuur, you will be offered food continuously until you accept or leave! And if you happen to be the lone car driving down the street you just might get flagged down to come eat!
For us, Ramadan is a great time to meet with friends and neighbors. This month people are seeking to draw closer to God.  It is our prayer that they will see the Truth and that God will use us as His instruments.
Abeer, my language helper.
It amazes me how patient she is with me!
